Summer Research 2021

Ava Duskic ’23 (left) and Emma Müller ’22 (right) received Neuroscience Collaborative Research Program (NCRP) grants to work in the lab for 8 weeks this summer. They trained Physarum to habituate to a repellant in order to reach oats (a favorite food). Once the slime habituated, a variety of amnesic agents were applied in an attempt to produce an “amnesic” effect. Ava and Emma were successful in finding an effective amnesic agent and will continue their work when classes start back up in the fall.
